Blogging Friends.... This has not been a good week. Throughout literally three
days, there have been two events that I am aware of which involved
shooting and murder. Two. One worse
than another, both equally tragic. They occurred on opposite ends of America. I
have been closely following one shootout for days, reading articles,
and sending late, late night prayers upward toward God to everyone involved. Everyone. Especially the killer's mother.
My heart breaks, for families of these lost loved ones--in both locations--who will never again be able celebrate Christmas with them. Just
breaks. So, sappy as it may seem, I
want to dedicate this song in honor of every family member and friend who is hurting right now.
Let your heart be light
From now on,
our troubles will be out of sight
Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Make the Yule-tide gay,
From now on,
our troubles will be miles away.
Here we are as in olden days,
Happy golden days of yore.
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Gather near to us once more.
Through the years
We all will be together,
If the Lord allows
Hang a shining star upon the highest bough.
And have yourself A merry little Christmas now.

You know, I have lived nearly 29 years of life and heard or read about tragic shooting events before. But I've never ever wondered about the killer's mother. Never. Yet, the other day, before anybody even knew its suspect's identity, I could not help but feel compassion for her. I still do....
It leaves everyone stunned when something like that happens. Our thoughts go out to the familes.

"It leaves everyone stunned when something like that happens.". Yeah.
In the busy-ness of the last week, I missed most details of the first event. The second one...Friday was slow so that one I paid attention to. I pray for the families and friends of those children and teachers and the emergency responders who were there. So sad...

So sad, indeed.
The first shooting, although equally tragic, was a bit less eventful, thank God.
Over here we only know of the one shooting at the school. It's on all the newspapers and tv. Very sad indeed, heartbreaking for the families and I cannot bare to think about what those poor people went through. Lovely dedication, Raelyn!
